The Horea family started the Stag Shop business at 7 King Street in Waterloo, Ontario in 1972 under the name "Stag Novelties' Books". Stag Shop's first location offered a diverse range of gag gifts, novelties and mild sexual aids. The first Stag Shop location also built a reputation for carrying a wide range of beautiful Halloween costumes. In fact, crowds of customers would line up to get a peek at the store's new costume offerings during the Halloween season.
While Stag Shop still maintains its reputation for being a fun place to shop, we are now known for much more including our sex education, pleasure products, and passion for the industry.
Horea: The Next Generation
The next generation of the Horeaβs featured the brother and sister duo; Marcus and Petra (as pictured above). While building upon their parentsβ legacy, Marcus and Petra have worked extremely hard to continue the Stag Shop legacy and grow the brand. With its family origins, Stag Shop maintains an integral family approach, even in its daily operations.
The Extended Family
Stag Shopβs headquarters & head office is also home to; the companyβs in-house graphics team, the corporate offices, the online store & warehouse, on-site IT staff, a design studio & team, marketing staff, and so many more of us!
Stag Shop's executive team works together to develop new ways to improve customer service, educate Stag Shop staff and implement marketing campaigns to improve service to Stag Shop customers.
Oh, Canada
Our roots have always proudly been in Canada; we started with 1 store and now have 27 stores all across Ontario and an online store which allows us to provide pleasure products, education, sex-positivity, and fun to Canadians and all across North America!
The public taboos against sexy novelties made progress difficult for the Horea family when they first began, but they persisted in their belief that sexy meant FUN. Through their determined effort, they created a shopping environment that is pleasant and tasteful - even for the adult industry.
Today, the Stag Shop family has built an empire of adult fun stores throughout Ontario and continues to offer a comfortable and educational shopping experience for everyone.
