An often forgotten lubricant type, oil-based lubes offer a slick glide with a silky feel. They are often of a thinner viscosity and less “cushy” than water or silicone-based lubes. Although some folks prefer the feel of an oil-based lube, it does come with some considerations. Oil is not compatible with latex, so it’s not a good choice if you plan on using it with any sort of barriers. It can also be harder to wash off of toys and the skin, making the clean-up that much more important! Coconut oil is a unique ingredient used within some oil-based lubes.
