“Cock And Ball WHAT?”
Cock and Ball Torture, more commonly known as CBT, is a type of kink originating within the BDSM community. There are many ways to play, however, the common themes usually revolve around pain and power exchange. The torture that is inflicted upon the penis and testicles depends on how you want to play but can range from mild discomfort to extreme pain - which is why it’s important to do your research before breaking out all the CBT tools. Here are some of the many reasons why CBT is becoming an increasingly popular activity.
Endorphins - With CBT, the body releases its natural painkillers, endorphins. The effect produced by endorphins can often mimic that of a "natural high". Some bottoms and/or masochists often refer to this euphoric state as subspace.
Control - As with many other BDSM activities, the power exchange includes either taking over or giving up the control. With CBT, the person with the penis is giving up control of one of their most intimate body parts to receive pleasure from pain. Taken even further, control is also seen within the common CBT fantasy of castration; which can become part of emasculation/humiliation play as well.
Sensitivity - CBT increases the blood flow to the penis, even more so than with natural erections. This then makes it even more engorged, and therefore all the more sensitive to any kind of stimulation; licks, pricks, slaps, etc.!
The Masochistic Thrill - As with many Dominant & Submissive activities, the submissive (and usually but not always, masochistic) partner often feels a sense of accomplishment and/or pride when seeing their dominant pleased by their actions and how they performed for them.
CBT Play
There are so many ways to engage in CBT, and it all depends on what was consensually agreed to beforehand. Here are some of the most common types of CBT play:
Stretching - This includes stretching of the skin, often this can be seen as 3. Sensitivity. CBT increases the blood flow to the penis, even more so than with natural erections. This then makes it even more engorged, and therefore all the more sensitive to any kind of stimulation; licks, pricks, slaps, etc.!
Squeezing/Ball Crushing - Just as it sounds, ball crushing/ squeezing refers to putting extreme pressure on the testicles. A device or toy (such as a vice, clamps, or a ball stretcher) can be used to do this, or it can be done manually with hands, by stepping on them, etc.
Bondage - Genital bondage involves binding the penis and/or testicles so that it is confined in a certain way. There are several different ways to play with bondage including cock cages, chastity cages, cuffs, mummification, rope play, etc. Just as there are many different ways to play, the desired outcome of genital bondage could be different for each player. Whereas a penis owner being bound could enjoy the uncomfortable sensation of transitioning from soft to erect, the person performing the bondage could instead be pleased by the aesthetic view of the penis intertwined with rope.
Sensory/Impact - Sensory and/or sensory deprivation play involves the five senses that most of us have as humans. When we don’t have use over one or more of the senses, the rest become heightened and more sensitive to stimulation. Impact play is a type of sensory play that can be a little more intense as it involves striking a playmate and/or being struck. This can be done manually with hands (i.e. spanking) or with other types of impact tools (crops, floggers, etc). Other common forms of sensory play include; temperature play, wax play, electrostimulation, using pinwheels, etc.
Safety:
As with all BDSM activities, safety is important and needs to be researched and addressed BEFORE any of the play should begin. Here are some important safety considerations for Cock & Ball Torture:
1. The BDSM Basics
Safe Word - A safe word can be used by any players involved and is used to indicate when the play needs to STOP immediately. It’s important to try to pick a word that won’t likely come up during play ever as even “no” and “stop” can often be part of a fantasy for some.
Boundaries - Any boundaries for all players involved needs to be discussed beforehand and these should NEVER be crossed. If a play partner does not want to try or do something that you do, please do NOT pressure them to try it, we all have boundaries in place for different reasons and this should be respected.
Aftercare - Aftercare is a very important part of BDSM that happens once the play is done. This allows all players involved to check in on the experience, reflect on what happened, what did & didn’t work, what to change and/or keep for next time, etc. This not only ensures the safety of everyone playing, but helps to foster the bond, trust, and connection between players that is often preferred, or even necessary for many BDSM players.
2. Time & Tightness
Similarly to when playing with a cock ring, there should be a time limit set in place for any binding or constriction of the penis and/or testicles. They become even more sensitive when bound, and should not exceed more than 20-30 minutes of constriction. It’s also important to remain completely aware of just how tight bindings, etc. are. It’s also a good idea when performing bondage to keep quick release items close. This could be a pair of scissors to cut bindings, the key to a chastity cage, etc.
3. Physical Considerations
If and/or when the squeezing of testicles is involved in CBT, try to be aware of the amount of force being used to squeeze (whether manually or with a device) as too much can damage the erectile tissue.
4. Do Your Homework!
There’s tons more resources out there in the world that can answer your specific questions regarding CBT. One of the best resources to try to find is your local BDSM community! Many have “munches”, or public get-togethers, to bring the community together and allow for social interaction outside of play.
Toys
If you think Cock & Ball torture is something you want to try, there are many kinds of toys that can help you with and/or add to your play! Here are some of the most common types of CBT toys:
Cock Cages & Chastity Cages - Made from a variety of materials, a cock cage is meant to constrict the penis, often in a soft and non-erect state. Chastity cages are usually built to be more intense and provide more of a sensation/effect when the penis owner becomes erect. Some chastity cages even feature a lock and key!
Clamps - Clamps can come in a variety of styles and designs, most often marketed towards being used on the nipples. However, the purpose is the same and depending on your experience level, it may be best to start with an adjustable clamp with a silicone tip (provides more comfort) before you try out the heavy-duty all metal, non-adjustable clamps!
Crushers & Vices - Designed for ball crushing purposes, a Vice (also called a ball crusher) is designed to gradually squeeze the testicles with the turn of a screw. This allows for more control over the pressure for both experience and safety purposes.
Ball Stretchers, Spreaders, & Weights - Often boasting a similar design to a cock ring, ball stretchers & spreaders help to separate (or stretch/ spread) the testicles from the penis. Some are designed with two rings, one for the penis and one for the testicles to sit in; others are designed to provide more of a drastic stretch.
Rope - Rope is used by many BDSM players to perform bondage, and it can be used on a number of body parts and limbs; the penis & testicles included.
Sensory & Impact Toys - As mentioned earlier, impact toys are used to strike a partner and can be seen most often in the form of; crops, whips, paddles, floggers, etc. Sensory toys are a little lighter and are used more for sensation rather than impact. These are most often seen as feather ticklers & various types of pinwheels.
