Would your partner like you to take the lead and initiate playing with sex toys (so there is an element of surprise)? Do you think playing with a vibrator together would be fun? These are some of the things you need to talk about. This will ensure you both get what you want and need.
Couples can connect on multiple levels with a number of different toys to enhance you’re sex lives. Introducing toys into the bedroom as a couple can be extremely exciting and add a little extra spark, helping you to explore new sexual experiences together. For example, a popular option for heterosexual couples to start with would be a small “c” shaped toys that hug the G-spot from within while massaging the clitoris externally. It simultaneously adds extra vibration and stimulation to the penis during penetration to create the ultimate orgasm and sensation.

THAT HITS THE SPOT!
Internal and G-spot vibrators are designed to be inserted into the vagina and range from about 4 inches in length to about 12 inches. The size you choose is entirely up to you, and is based solely on personal preference. If the toy has a curve at the end, it is designed to access the G-spot easier than a standard straight vibe. Either way, make sure to lubricate these toys so they glide easily. If you’re not sure which lubricant is best for you, a simple water-based formula is a good bet. Turn the toy on and insert the toy to where it is most comfortable. Play around with angles, speed and varying pressure until you find what works for you.
Want to hit both the clitoris and G-spot at the same time? Then you’re looking for a “rabbit” or dual vibrator. These toys have a shaft and a small clitoral bullet attached at the base. This design allows you to contact both the internal nerves and G-spot and the clitoris at the same time. Given the size of these toys, they are more commonly used a masturbation or foreplay tool for women as they would generally be “in the way” during sex.

PUT A RING ON IT
Another option if you’re interested in something that can be used to stimulate the clitoris and g-spot simultaneously (but want to be able to use it during sex and not just for foreplay) is a vibrating cockring. Cockrings are typically made of a stretchy material and shaped like a small circular ring. They are stretched over the shaft of the penis straight down to the base where they rest against the pubic bone. A small clitoral bullet is attached on one side on the vibrating model so that when the penis enters the vagina, the bullet will press against the clitoris and provide great hands-free stimulation for both partners!

Regardless of what kind of toy you decide to try, there are Four Golden Rules to keep in mind!
- First, always, always, ALWAYS, wash your toy with a good toy cleaner or non-irritating, unscented mild soap before and after every use. This hygienic practice will keep the toy clean and safe for use and also maintain it so you can love it for as long as possible
- Second, never be afraid to lubricate a toy. We always say “wetter is better!” Any water-based formula will improve the toy’s function and prevent any chafing or pulling if things get hot and heavy!
- Third, if the toy takes batteries, do NOT leave the batteries in the toy when it’s not in use. Not only does this drain the batteries’ power (even when the toy isn’t on), but it can also cause the toy’s motor to overheat or burn out. Leave the batteries aside when storing your toys and pop them back in when you’re ready for fun.
- Last, always store your toys separately (meaning don’t let them touch). Many toy materials include silicone in them, and given its inert nature, silicone bonds to itself. This means if you store two silicone-containing toys on top of each other for a length of time, they will effectively ‘melt.’ Put each toy into a lint-free pouch to prevent any issues, and also to help keep them clean in storage.
