A cock ring is worn tightly around the penis so that it lightly constricts the blood flow to the area. They can provide several benefits including a firmer feeling erection, the potential to last a little longer, providing extra stimulation to a partner, and more!
Since there are TONS of different cock rings available at Stag Shop, to help you out we created a shopping guide that breaks down all the different types and what to look for depending on your level of experience with them.
Once you have the ring of your choosing, here’s how to use it!
1. Before you put one on, consider the material

If you’re newer to rings, we recommend going for one that is made from a stretchier material like TPR or TPE (jelly) or that is adjustable (like the red one pictured above). If you’re more experienced, you can explore materials with less stretch (therefore providing more constriction) like silicone or even metal for an advanced user.
2. Lube up
Wet Original Lubricant Various Sizes
Using a lubricant can help to get the ring on and into place on the penis. Just be sure you’re using the right type; silicone lubes should be avoided with silicone toys, oil lubes should be avoided with latex (like condoms), and water-based is pretty much universal!
3. Putting it on
Cal Exotics Ultra Soft Dual Cock Ring
You can wear one flaccid, semi-erect, or erect all depending on the level of constriction that the ring provides. Some rings can include the balls too either with a ball strap or if it's stretchy & large enough to fit over the shaft and the testicles (pictured above).
XR Brands Master Series Silver Hex Cock Ring
Wearing it at the base of the shaft is recommended for beginners because it’s easier to place and can be done in any of the above arousal states of the penis.
4. Once it’s on, pay attention to the tightness level

If it’s too tight, it could feel uncomfortable or in extreme cases, cause damage. If it’s too loose, it’s not going to provide enough blood flow restriction for the ring to do its job, or it could fall off altogether. It may take some experimentation to find one that’s best for you and your body (or try adjustable ones!)
**Please note: it’s not recommended to wear one for more than 30 minutes or so for safety reasons!
5. Are you using it with a partner?

If so, consider a ring that vibrates or that features some extra type of stimulator like nubbies or rabbit ears. Also think about how you want to wear it; a vibrating ring upside down can stimulate the perineum or testicles of a partner, whereas right side up can stimulate the clitoris (all depending on the positions of course!).
6. Don’t forget to clean it when you’re done!
Wicked Sensual Care Foam N' Fresh Toy Cleaner 8oz
Just as with all sex toys, be sure you’re cleaning your ring when you’re done - especially if there’s lube and/or bodily fluids on it! How to clean your ring may depend on the material it’s made of, however a toy cleaner is generally safe with all materials.
