Now that you have a handle on some of the basics, check out some of our creative tips to clean your sexy stuff!
1. Try a q-tip
Let’s face it, some sex toys simply have some hard-to-reach areas that are more likely to harbour bacteria like veins, textures, ridges, etc. It can be tricky to get into those areas with regular cleaning, so a q-tip provides a smaller tip that really helps you to get into those nooks and crannies!
2. Use a douche…in a stroker

Especially if your stroker is closed-ended, this means that it can be harder to flush the fluids, lube, etc. out of the toy. Try inserting a douche into the opening of your toy and inserting water and/or toy cleaner that way to help it reach all the way to the back!
Alternatively, run a stroker through the water stream if open-ended so that it fully flushes out the chamber/tunnel.
3. Enlist the help of a cloth
Some sex toys may not be able to get wet, and therefore can’t be washed the regular way under running water. Your toy might not be waterproof, it could have attached wires or a remote control, or it could be made of a material you don’t want to get wet, like leather strap-on harnesses and BDSM items.
Instead, you can use a lint-free cloth to gently clean and wipe down the items you don't want to get wet, like your beloved Magic Wand.
4. Turn on the dishwasher

Depending on the material of your toy, you may have some more convenient cleaning methods available to you. For non-motorized toys that are made of 100% stainless steel or borosilicate glass, they can be cleaned in the top-rack of your dishwasher!
Hot Tip: These materials can also be boiled for around 3 minutes or so for the same results!
5. Use a toothbrush for small openings
For sex toys that have a smaller opening - like clitoral suction toys or nipple suckers - use a toothbrush to thoroughly clean around and inside of the hole. Make sure that you designate a specific toothbrush for this though because you wouldn’t want to accidentally mix these up!
